A mechanically sound machine does not need replacing because its control is obsolete. We refit the control, supply and repair the parts that stop it, and build a machine from scratch where nothing standard does the job.
CNC Retrofit & Upgrade
A new control on the machine you already own, with its geometry untouched.

The survey comes first: geometry, backlash, spindle and screw condition are checked before anything is quoted, and if the iron is not worth retrofitting we will say so. Where it is, the control is designed around that machine — controller, drives and motors sized to it, schematics and an I/O list issued before anything is ordered. The panel is built and tested in our own works, so the machine is out of production for the installation rather than for the whole job.

CNC Controllers
Current controls fitted in place of obsolete ones, with spares you can still buy.

One failed board can idle an obsolete machine for weeks, because the part no longer exists. A current control platform puts spares back on a shelf and support back on a phone line. We fit the control to suit the work the machine does and the people who run it — a turning centre that makes the same part all day and a toolroom mill do not want the same interface.

Servo Drives & Motors
Drives, motors and encoders matched to the axis and tuned on the machine.

A servo axis is a drive, a motor, a feedback device and a mechanical load that have to agree with each other. Swapping one for the nearest equivalent and leaving the loop at its defaults is how a machine comes back with a following error or a finish nobody accepts. We size the replacement against the axis as it is — inertia, duty, travel — then tune it on the machine and prove it on a cut.

CNC Spare Parts
Supplied new, repaired, exchanged from stock, or found when nobody sells it any more.

Four different problems arrive as the same phone call. Sometimes the part is current and simply needs buying. Sometimes the failed unit is worth repairing and returning. Sometimes the machine cannot wait for either, and an exchange unit goes out while yours comes in. And sometimes the maker stopped supporting the control a decade ago — which is the point at which a retrofit is worth costing against another year of hunting, and we will tell you which way the numbers fall.

A special purpose machine earns its cost by doing one thing faster, more repeatably or more safely than a general machine can. So the design starts from the operation and the rate it has to run at, and works back to the mechanics — not from a standard frame that the job is then bent to fit. Where a standard machine would do, we will say so; that is a cheaper answer and it keeps its resale value. We take the whole package: frame and motions, drives and motors, PLC, HMI, pneumatics and the safety circuit, designed together and commissioned by the people who designed them. It leaves us documented like any other machine, and your maintenance people are trained on it before we go.
